    Le Potager de Charlotte is a family run restaurant that serves French inspired, seasonal and inventive plant-based dishes. The flavours and colours of the food are vibrant, the front of house which is run by Charlotte herself is warm and welcoming, her son runs the kitchen, and all staff is welcoming and knowledgable.

    The dishes are whole food based and the wine choices reflect a taste of France. Whether you are going for a lunch or a dinner, make sure you have enough space for the full three course experience at this vibrant, hospitbable plant-based hotspot. Reservations recommended.

    2 – Daimant Co.

    Not to be missed either is Daimant co,  a collective of two restaurants promoting the vegan lifestyle with French inspired innovative cuisine. Daimant Saint-honoré and Faubourg Daimant serve French cuisine inspired innovative plant-based dishes, and they now have a Plan D, which is a street food restaurant specializing in sandwiches and ice creams.

    The croquettes of Daimant co recently received the prestigious “Groin d’Or” which is awarded by the Parisien insitute Le Pied de Cochon – which is very not vegan – and it is a massive compliment not only for the quality of their croquettes but also for their open and unifying approach to food. Reservations recommended and go hungry!

     3 – 42 Degrés

    A very exciting option is the raw vegan gastronomic restaurant 42 Degrés (42 degrees being the temperature limit set for raw food). It is unique in it’s sort, This restaurant serves raw vegan food inspired by both French and foreign cuisines. This restaurant also provides catering services and regularly hosts hands-on raw vegan workshops. A truly unique proposition not only in Paris also in France. Not to be missed when visiting Paris. Reservations necessary.

     4 – Les Tontons Veg

    For your good old Paris style burger the welcoming and upbeat crew of Les Tontons veg are ready to welcome you for lunch or dinner. On the menu are burgers, freshly prepared sides (one of my favourites being the spiced grilled Brussels sprouts) and wonderful fries. They have homemade pickles and a good choice of wines and non-alcoholic drinks. Great for casual dining. Online you find them on Instagram and Facebook. Les Tontons veg do not take reservations, just walk in and enjoy!

    5 – Breathe restaurant

    Breathe restaurant close to the famous Rue Montorgueil is formally a sushi bar, but I find that it really is a meeting between French and Japanese cuisine with a truly remarkable warm and welcoming staff. They serve lovely mocktails, good sushi but to me the true star is the ramen bowl. Well known and loved by many, walking in with two persons and being seated is possible but for larger groups or to be sure to have a seat reservation are recommended. All the food is vegan, and you can watch the crew working, and it’s convivial.

    6 – Mori Café

    A fully Japanese vegan spot not to be missed, is Mori cafe Founder Julia Boucachard is the inspired cheffe here, basing her cuisine on her mixed Japanese and French lives. The food is fresh with deep umami tastes and seasonal produce. If you cannot go to the restaurant, get the fantastic book that Julia wrote sharing many of her authentic delicious recipes: Japon Vegan / Vegan Japan. Available in French and English.

     7 – Bloom Sushi

    Another great address for innovative vegan sushi is Bloom sushi. Bloom sushi offers a great selection of innovative plant-based sushi’s that are firmly rooted in the traditional technique and taken forward with new plant-based ingredients and textures. The staff is warm and welcoming, the atmosphere is upmarket and reservations are recommended. A good selection of wines and non-alcoholic drinks. The sushi it’s very addictive, so go with an empty stomach!

     8 – Mesa de Hoy

    Mesa de Hoy is a rare find. Mesa is the “canteen” of the fully vegan Hoy Hotel. The great news: also if you are not staying at the hotel, you are welcome to order breakfast, lunch or dinner at the hotel. Mesa blends international (mainly Latin American) inspiration with French takes. The food is locally sourced and all is plant-based.

    Their avocado sandwich is a work of art, the pancakes are delicious, and the various lunch options are just scrumptious. The menu evolves continuously. This is a truly unforgettable experience for plant-powered and food enthusiasts alike, due to the textures, tastes and elegant plating offered.

    9 – Ara Chocolates

    Ara Chocolates is a fully vegan artisan chocolatier founded by a lovely couple from Venezuela. Their chocolates are handmade from start to finish, they source their own chocolate beans with small producers and go through great length to ensure their whole production process is ethical.

    Their taste combinations include chocolate-olive and salt caramel, rich tastes that massage your taste buds in all the right ways. They do tasting boxes and are very happy to talk you through their journey.

    10 – VG Pâtisserie

    VG Pâtisserie is an all-vegan bakery, offering breakfast options and fantastic pâtisserie. VG Pâtisserie offers classic French pastries veganized as well as seasonal indulgent specials. The croissants and pains au chocolat are sumptuous, but why single out these breakfast options when all the pâtisserie is so delicious that you simply regret not being able to eat all in one go. For those who read French, the owner and founder Bérénice Leconte has put her secrets to the delightful pâtisseries in her cookbook. All pâtisserie is made at the shop.
